TARABA STATE PDP CHAIRMAN APPRECIATED ELECTORATES FOR COMING OUT TO VOTE FOR THE PARTY

The Taraba State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Mr. Victor Kona has showered accolades to the Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) on the well conducted council election.

The Chairman who spoke to journalists after the whole exercise expressed satisfaction with the general conduct of the polls all over the 16 local government areas of the state describing it as a ”credible election,” Mr Kona stated.

He said that the reports gotten from all parts of the state revealed that the elections were conducted in a free and transparent manner without any rancho.

“I am very pleased to tell you that I am very satisfied with the outcome of today’s election that was conducted in a very free and transparent manner and I want to commend the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission TSIEC for conducting a credible election.”

The PDP chairman also noted the development would further deepen democracy in the country.

“This development has proved that our democracy is growing and we are learning very fast, our democracy is 21 years and we are learning fast,” he said.

Debunking insinuation that candidates were imposed on the people against their choice, Mr Kona said that consensus method have always been the practice in the party, stressing that it was done to avoid crisis within the party.

“Even when we decided to go by consensus all the local government areas were asked to choose the persons they would want to represent them, their choices were our flag bearers so we carried everybody along we don’t impose candidates in any of the LGA’s,” he explained.
