No fewer than 100 people were internally displaced as a result of flood disaster in Ara community and Udeni magaji communities in Nasarawa local government Area of Nasarawa state.
Also, many villages were submerged as a result of flood disaster in the area. Executive Secretary, Nasarawa state Emergency Management Agency (,SEMA) barrister Zakari Zamani Allumaga who stated this in a chat with journalists in his office also said there are similar threats of flood disaaster in Guto village where the people of the community refused to relocate and urged them to have a re-think in order to save their lives and property. Allumaga further explained that the state government under Governor Abdullahi Sule provided five flying boats, to move the victims to safer zones,live jackets stretchers among others.He said the state government also through the Agency provided 45 trucks of assorted grains,as well as building materials to the victims of the flood across the state. The Executive Secretary further explained that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provided 142 bags of maize,142 bags of rice,and 142 bags of beans to the victims of flood disaaster in the state, while commending NEMA for the gesture, barrister Allumaga called on the victims to make good use of the food items donated to them. The SEMA executive secretary used the occasion to announce that out of 469 victims of insurgency in the state 449 of them were successfully transported to their States of origins, while the remaining 20 who are the indigenes of Nasarawa state were successfully taken to their families in Nasarawa local government Area of the state. He commended Governor Sule to his support to SEMA and pledged to ensure that the agency has reciprocated the good gesture of the Governor by ensuring prudent management of the resources accrued to them by the state government.
