Nasarawa state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free, fair and credible election in Edo state. According to a communiqué issued at the end of its September meeting held at NUJ Secretariat on Thursday also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for the prompt payments of salariés on 25th of every month to workers in the state.
The communiqué which was signed by Sunday John, and made available to journalists in lafia further commended Governor Abdullahi Sule, his wife Hajiya Salifat Abdullahi Sule, his deputy,Dr.Emmanuel Akabe and the speaker of the state Assembly, Hon.Balarabe Ibrahim Abdullahi for assisting Journalists in the state in discharging their constitutional duties.
It also called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to provide the state council of NUJ with a vehicle to enable them attend NUJ meetings across the country.
The statement further said that the council chairman Comrade Salisu Muhammad Alkali inaugurated five standing committees during the meeting.
The committees include Advisory, Discipline, press center,and welfare committeeAlkali also announced that a newsroom would be opened at the press center for the use of members of the pen profession.
