It is our humble intention to refer our esteemed readers to our recent publication captioned, “Court Denies Militia Leader, Shehu Jatau, 3 Others Bail. In the said story, we used some adjectives to describe the accused persons, especially, Shehu Jatau as a militia leader.
We hereby, withdraw the word ‘Militia’ and any word therein that is not a reflection of what transpired in court or misrepresents the personal integrity of Shehu Jatau and as well, portray the image of other accused persons in bad light.
The correction becomes imperative in view of the fact that there is no record indicating that the said accused persons have ever been tried and convicted by any competent court of jurisdiction.
The error is highly regretted.
