Nasarawa LG Election : Ex- Lafia Local Government Chairman Emerges APC Candidate.

The immediate past Lafia local government chairman and ALGON chairman, Nasarawa state, Hon Aminu Muazu MAIFATA has emerged the APC candidate for Lafia local government October 6th local government elections in the state. MAIFATA who got the overwhelming votes of 297 to defeat his co-contestants ,Muhammad Haliru Arabo and Yahaya Dauro who 64 and 6 votes respectively. The election which was conducted under peaceful atmosphere was witnessed by security agents which includes the police, Department of state security services ( DSS) civil defence, NAYES and other security agents. Speaking shortly after Maifata was declared winner, the immediate past secretary Lafia local government, Comrade Abubakar Lamino who was full of joy after his former boss was declared winner, commended the people of Lafia local government for the show of love and solidarity given to Maifata and assured them that he ( Maifata) will never let them down if re- elected for the second term as Lafia local government chairman. Lamino who is the campaign during of Maifata during the election, called on those who contested with Maifata to join hands with him enable him do more to the people of Lafia local government if re- elected as chairman. He used the opportunity to commend all those who contributed in one way or the other towards the success of the election for their show of maturity before, during and after the election. It will be recalled that hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata few weeks ago, had his nomination form purchased by friends,polical Associates and well wishers to re- contest the Lafia local government government chairmanship election for what they described as his good performance while in office. With this development, Maifata now has become the first chairman of Lafia local government to be re-elected twice in a council election if elected during the October 6th local government election in the state.
