Nasarawa Law Makers Pass Into Law 2019 Planned Expenditure of N90.19bn

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed into law the 2019 appropriation bill of over N90.17 billion.
At the Thursday plenary presided the the Speaker like, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi the house considered the speedy passage of the bill , afte the Majority Leader, Tanko Tunga moved w motion for the passage of the Budget which was seconded by the Minority leader, Peter Umbucho, representing Akwanga North Constituency.
Accordingly, the Law makers jerked up the budget by over N3billion due to the omission of Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme (NAYES) sectoral Allocation, among others.
However, the speaker recommended that all the on going and new projects executed should be sustained and completed for the benefit of the people of the state, announcing that out of the total budget size of N90,170,246,463.52billion is to be issued out from the consolidated Revenue Fund.
“A total of N51.029,581,277.52billion, representing 57% is for Recurrent Expenditure while Capital expenditure gulped N31,966,994,046billion representing 35 percent”.
He stated further that a consolidated Revenue Fund charges of N7,173,671,140billion, representing 8% is for Debt Servicing, Pension and Gratuity.
The Speaker who appealed to the state government to intensify effort to block all loopholes especially in the area of revenue generation to achieve the desired objectives with regards to Internally Generated Revenue, further recommended autonomy of the state Revenue Board to enable it improve performance in generating more revenue.
Ibrahim Abdullahi tasked the executive to imbibe the spirit of strict implementation of the budget provisions when finally sign into law.
It would be recalled that the state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura on December 28, 2018, presented the 2019 budget proposal of N86.64billion to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
