Director General of industrial training fund(ITF) Sir Joseph Ari has calm fray nerves over the rumors making around that the Federal Government is making sinister moves to relocate the Headquarters of the (ITF) from Jos to Abuja
Sir Ari said considering the kind of structure erected by the Federal government which is housing ITF, surpasses any federal agencies in the country.
Adding that, coupled with the amount of taxes paid by plateau state Internal Revenue monthly, is hard to insinuate that the Federal government is making moves to relocate ITF from plateau moreso that the fund was established by Act of Parliament of the Federation.
The DG industrial training fund (ITF) make this clarification on Wednesday 6th Feb, 2019 during an interactive section with Journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat around Hill Station Junctions in jos, the plateau state capital.
Sir Ari said before assumption of office as DG of( ITF) the roof of the buildings housing ITF were literally blown off by winds and the structures of the whole buildings were in a very pitiable condition.
“My coming, l have to set machinery in motion and started renovation with the backing of the Federal government.
“Today, ITF is the envy of all, as it has put those within and around the community of the ministry site back economically as their businesses has pick up astronomically.
“When I assumed office as the DG of ITF, all the roof of the buildings were all linking and practically dropping water all over the place”
He however revealed that in 2018 ,ITF trained no fewer than 30,000 unemployed youths across the country, which appears to be insignificant figure compared to the number of unemployment youths roaming the streets looking for white collar jobs that are hard to come by.
He call on the state governments, other stakeholders to sponsor trainees for ITF skills acquisition program which entails the payment of stipends to trainees monthly as he made it clear that combating unemployment is not only the responsibility of ITF and other agencies of the Federal government alone that all must be involve, as all hand must be on deck.
