Plateau PDP State Campaign Council Rates Local Rallies As Harvest Of Goodwill

The Plateau State Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says it was marvelled by the recent outings in continuation with the campaign Rallies of local governments to solicit for votes from the populace for the forthcoming elections.
The campaign team through the Media and Publicity sub committee in a statement signed by its chairmen Yiljap Abraham said in n the ancient city of Wase, the entire town was turned into a massive carnival ground as huge crowds turned out to welcome the PDP State Campaign train chanting ‘Baba mai tuwo, Oyoyo!”; “Jerry Boy!!” and “Sai JT!!!”
“It was meant to be a special welcome as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state Senator JT Useni was ushered into the town on a campaign tour.
“At the Emir’s palace, Sen. Useni told the emir, Alhaji Sambo Haruna that he was there to officially inform him of his aspiration to become governor of Plateau having emerged as candidate of the PDP in a keenly contested primaries. He was also seeking for royal blessing.
“He said he noted with sadness that the many projects started by the Jonah Jang administration have since been abandoned by the APC administration but added that these can be salvaged through voting back the PDP.
“Sen. Useni stressed the importance of the traditional institution as pivotal to sustainable peace and development, adding that as governor of Delta State and National Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council he had helped in upholding and empowering the traditional institution across the country.
“He promised to pay keen attention to this institution when elected Governor of Plateau”.
He quoted the Emir Alh Sambo Haruna as saying, “we recalled the many projects Senator JT Useni brought to Wase when he was Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and also as Senator of the Southern Zone.
“He said although he was a son before Senator Useni, destiny had placed it upon him to transmit his special royal blessings to to such a great man as Senator Useni. He further advised the party to continue to focus on carrying everyone along.
“At the Wase mini stadium, venue of the PDP rally, the PDP governorship Candidate promised an all-inclusive and impactful administration.
“He said he can be trusted to secure the State and make it a safe and prosperous home for Plateau people.
“In different speeches, former LG Chairmen, Party stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the candidature of Sen JT Useni.
“They expressed sadness over what they described as under performance of the current state administration.
“Highlight of the event was the presentation of candidates vying for various positions from the National Assembly to the State Assembly.
“In Langtang North, women and youth flooded the streets of Langtang town in a show of solidarity with the JT Useni campaign.
“At the palace of the Ponzhi Taroh, Senator Useni sought the royal blessing of the Langtang North and Langtang South Joint Traditional Council. He pleaded with them to avoid disunity and cooperate with each other for the progress of the State. He appealed to elders to work closely with young people for the upliftment of society.
“The Langtang mini stadium witnessed a parade by different support groups who took turns to show their affection for the flag bearer of the PDP Sen. JT Useni.
“He in turn appealed to the people to give the presidency and all other positions to the PDP at the forthcoming national.
“You must give me as your Governor an all-PDP House of Assembly because I cannot execute our lofty programmes with those who oppose our ideals to transform Plateau State.”
Several party leaders who spoke berated the current administration for wasting resources on the LG polls only to deny the rightful winners their mandate.
“They called on all party stakeholders to return to their polling units to ensure that what happened during the October 2018 Local Government elections does not happen again.
“PDP State party Chairman, Hon DT Sango told the Taroh nation to stand solidly behind Senator Useni and not any other candidate.
“The event climaxed with the receiving of Decampees into the party led by Pharmacist Pontim Rimfa who came in with over a thousand of his followers.
“Pharmacist Nimfa said it was a happy reunion with with his former party haven witnessed the non-performance of the current APC administration”.
