Elections Postponement: FG To Pay N1bn Each To Political Parties, LP Candidate Insist.

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, in Plateau State, Hon. Nuru Tanko Waziri has expressed fears over the negative consequences the past Saturday bitched election might have on the Nigerian Democracy.

Nuru Waziri at a news conference in Jos on Monday expressed worries that the postponement of February 16″‘ may discourage voters from keepmg faith with electoral process thereby given the bigger parties opportunity to rig electIon at WIll.

“To thIs end, I Nura Tanko Waziri in my capacity as a gubernatorial candidate of

” l belIeve the postponement is caused by incompetence, negligence or compromise, eIther way the INEC staff involve must be Identified sack and persecuted .

“Candidates most of whom collected loans with Interest have suffered great lost and are now in a dilemma. Therefore, I suggest federal government in the spirit of fair play should reinburse all registered political parties with the sum of one billion naira each to ensure a successful election.

”Failure to do so will clearly show that the postponement was made to break the smaller political parties and their candidates”.

He however, warns that Henceforth decisions of such magnitude must be taking in consideration of its effect on
Nigerians.

Speaking on his aspirations to run for the position of governor in Plateau State, he said he intends to change the operations of the state from analogue to digital.

According to him, ‘The leadership in Plateau State have over the years remain confused on the core potentials of the state, hence if I am elected, I will degitalize Plateau, we will network simultaneously with other zones in such a way that you don’t need come to the state headquarters before you do your business.

“The three key Programes I intend to pursue for the state is to, build a multibillion dollars company in minning, and an entertainment industry, which the state is known for, and building these is the easiest way to make money.

‘”As a Labour man, I will creat job opportunities and ensure that workers are paid well”.
