Police Queries Vanguard News Online

The Plateau State Police Command wishes to dissociate itself from the ‘Vanguard Online’ publication of 27th February, 2019 which misquoted the Command as threatening to make the people face full wrath of the law for celebrating the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR at the polls last Saturday.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Terna Tyopev in a press release said the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command CP Isaac Akinmoyede had earlier in the day advised the good people of Plateau State who are celebrating the victory of the President to restrict the celebration to their homes.
This advice became necessary to forestall a situation where hoodlums may hijack the celebration to perpetrate mayhem in the State.
Members of the public are therefore advice to disregard the Vanguard Online publication which quoted the Command clearly out of context.
The Plateau State Police Command is always ready to provide security for the teeming population and urge the public to be law abiding.
