DIG, Nwobodo Mobilizes Plateau Command To Step Up Surveillance During Polls.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police deployed to supervise 2019 general election in North Central zone, DIG Godwin Nwobodo has charged men and Officers of the Plateau state police command to remain firm and be very observant during and after rhe elections.
The DIG disclosed this on Thursday at plateau State command while addressing Officers on their expectations during the exercise, saying reports he received about their performances in the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections was very impressive.
He urged them to maintain the tempo and amend where necessary, the lapses that might have been recorded.
He said, police as the major agency entrusted with the handling of electoral matters should cooperate with other security agencies for better service delivery.

He advice them not to be confrontational, but should take note and observe every process, so that the end of the day if they are called explain at their area of assignments they will be able to do it concisely..

Earlier in his welcome address, the plateau State commissioner of police Isaac Akinyemode Commended the officers and men of the command during the last Elections and urged them not to compromise standard.

He reminded them the burben ahead of them is enermous compared to other divisions, due to the re-run that would be conducted along side with the Governorship and state Legislative elections, and stressed the need for the to step up efforts to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
The commissioner of police Plateau State Command and the Chairman Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Elections Security ((ICCES) has earlier conducted a Joint Security and Law Enforcement Agencies to a Show of Force within the Jos Bukuru metropolis.
He said the show of Force was was going on simultaneously in the pankshine and Shendam commands of the state to send signal to peace loving citizens that they are protected during the polls, and as well send inform mischief makers that they are on ground to deal with any body or group of persons whose stick in trade is to cause disaffection to the socity in accordance with the laws of the land.
