OFFICIAL: ADP Guber Candidate, Pastor Margaret Drops Ambition Over financial Incapacitation, Not Defection
By Moses Gbande
A Rejoinder coming in few hours to the Governorship elections indicates that the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau State is not having it phony with reports that its Governorship candidate has decamped to another political party.
Thr Party refers to a story published by an online news media: “fbdglobalnews.worldpress.com” on March 6, 2019 that one Pastor Margret Inusa, a former gubernatorial candidate under the ADP platform have purportedly defected to the PDP, as false and misleading .
Danjuma Auta, the State Publicity Secretary of ADP in a statement says, Ordinarily, the party should not join issues with such unethical practice of journalism but for the fact that the malicious information is already in public domain, and even though the blogger appears to be so much in a haste not to corroborate the facts, let alone to know the full meaning of ADP.
“But in order to set the records straight this rejoinder has become necessary and ADP wish to inform the general public that Pastor Margret Inusa voluntarily relinquished her gubernatorial candidature of the ADP on grounds that she had no financial capacity to continue in the race.
‘She had appealed to the party caucus/stakeholders to scout for a better and formidable candidate to replace her in order not to disappoint the party due to her lack of capacity.
“Inusa, wrote a letter to the party withdrawing her candidature and also filled the INEC substitution form without any duress.
“She pleaded with Gen. Jon Temlong who replaced her to consider her as running mate where she was made to understand that both the party and Temlong will need to consult further before taking any decision.
“Margret also made demands of compensation to Gen. Temlong who promised to look into it but encouraged her to join his campaign team while her request was still being considered.
‘Since then, she stopped participating in party activities, even though several attempts were made by the party hierarchy to encourage her but she remained adamant.
“It is for this reason that the ADP dissociates itself from the lies being peddled by Pastor Margret Inusa in the media. We wish to advise her to be truthful in narrating her ordeal and stop spewing information that is unsubstantiated.
“Gen. Jon Temlong remains the Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau State and we enjoin all citizens of the state to come out en masse on Saturday 9th March 2019 and vote for the ADP in both Governorship and State House of Assembly election.
