PLSG Restates Commitments To Implementing Programmes That Will Bring Succor To Citizenry

Plateau Sta poote Government on Monday commissioned Hydra- Form Block Making Machines for onward distribution to the seventeen Local Government Areas of the state. 

Presenting the Mechines on behalf of the state government, Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Sonny Tyoden says the epoc making event was in fulfilment of the rescue administration’s continued to pursue and deliberately execute programmes and projects that have direct impact on the people.

He said since the administration came positively on board it has continued to and executed programmes and projects that have positively affected the lives of citizenry, as encapsulated in one of our Five Pillar Policy Thrust, especially, physical ingrastructure and environment. 

He said the Local Government which constitutes the larger part of the population deserves attention and better services. 

“That is why in our quest as a government to improve the living standard and welfare of citizens at the grassroots, wooed investors and tap from other business opportunities that are beneficial to our people. 

“This also necessitated the series of engagements we have had with Investors that provided us with these Hydra-Form Block Making Machines to assist in actualising our housing needs. More so, the 

procurement of this technology will further improve the housing architecture in our schools; provide housing for staff of the local government as well as the general public.

The benefit of this block making machines is that it has the capacity mass produce sufficient blocks within a short time and also reduce cost of building construction. This equipment will no doubt help in the attainment of affordable housing for our population across the state. l! addition, the new building technology which is accompanied with a transferable package to train our teeming youth will provide employment for the youth and also go a long in boosting the internally generated revenue of our local governments. 

“While government continue to open new frontiers for investment, it is equally important that those saddled with the responsibility of managing this facility should ensure that they are properly managed and maintained for the benefit ofall. 

“I want to implore our people to take advantage of this initiative and maximize it in order to close the housing deficit in our communities. 

“Our government which is people centered will continue to implement viable projects that will bring succour to our people within the available resources”.

Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of the Hydra Form Brick and Block Machines vommrnded the Executive Govemor and the Deputy Governor of Plateau State for their victory at the recently concluded in Nigeria polls adjudged by the international Community as the best polls conducted in the last ten years. 

“We wish you a successful tenure in the service of the good people of Plateau State. Also, we will like to commend in the foresight of His Excellency in the acquisition of these Hydraform Brick Block making and paving machines for all Local Govemment Areas of Plateau State”

He explained that the Hydraform Building System makes use of a natural raw material (earth) to manufacture a building block stabilized with just 10% cement. The blocks are interlocking, thus eliminating the need for mortar joints in 70% of a building Hydmform has developed. 

“A range of towable, efficient, economical block making machines to produce building blocks, bricks, paving stones and roofing tiles of virtually any size. 

“A high quality, interlocking block of soil plus (minimal) qement curved without burning fossils fuel. 

A simple building process allowing for minimal skilled artisans but greater involvement of unskilled workers”. 

This will bring Solution to Housing Deficit and Youth Unemployment: It has been estimated that Plateau State’s Housing deficit is in the neighborhood of 500,000 homes. 250,000 homes for Greater Jos alone. 75% of Nigeria’s population is below the age of 35 ‘ with no Jobs. To these twin challenges create an opportunity for job creation and empowerment, that Hydraform can offer the good people of Plateau State

“Our advice to the Local Government Areas is to turn  over the Hydraform block making machines to an economic enterprise, say Cooperative Societies to manage on an operating lease basis. Thus, with this arrangement each LGA will generate 163 per each block or product of‘each machine at an agreed rate”.

Speaking, Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Dayyaubo Garga commended Local government elected chairmen for embracing the policies of government and urged them to make best use of the opportunity to better the lots of the people.
