
Kanam Legislative Arm Impeach House Leader, Deputy

Members of the Legislative Arms of the Kanam Local government council of Plateau state have impeached the House Majority Leader Hon Yahaya Ayuba Shehu and the Deputy House Leader, Hon Abubakar Muhammad Yakubu
The exercise which took Place during the Council Plenary Session held by thirteen out of the twenty members of Kanam Legislative arm lead by the Majority Leader.
Majority leader of the House Majority Leader Hon Usman Gwaivanmin while briefing Journalists Said the duo were impeached following a number of allegations labelled against them by the members of the Council for which they were both found wanting and were unable to exonerate themselves.
Principal among is allegation include autocratic Style of leadership, taking Critical decisions for members without Consultations, Collaborating with the executives to trample on the rights and privileges of the members and also working for their Personal interest without recourse to the Collective will and Position of the Local government
He said these among other allegations include lack of Confidence in them and hence the impeachment
He said necessary procedure was followed and a quorum was formed with Seventeen members in attendance during the Sitting with list of Signatories attached
The majority Leader Hon Gwaivanmin Said by this development the House Leadership is Calling on the Council Chairman, Security agencies and the general Public not to Carry out any transactions with the former as new leaders have emerged in the legislative arm with Hon Abdulbasid Haladu from Kyansar ward as House leader while Hon Bala Atiku as Deputy Leader from Dengi ward
He also warned the former House leader and his Deputy to Stop Parading themselves as the House have impeaches them
Speaking Shortly after his election the new House leader Hon Abdulbasid Haladu Said he will work for the interest of the House and the general public to move the Council forward and Pledged to Carry the two Principal Officers along in the discharge of his duties
He Pleaded with the Council Chairman and Stakeholders in the Council to ensure that place reigns in Kanam as there is no place like him
Two of other lawmakers Chief Whip Hon Bilyaminu Yalsin and Hon Rabiu Mijiyawa House Committee on Security called for Peace Saying the need for the impeachment became necessary following the Vote of no Confidence Passed on the two leaders and also they will for personal interest above the interest of the people led to their removal and it Stance
They Called on Security agencies to ensure that the Council Chambers is protected and members of the Public to remain Calm as its Part of legislative business
It would be recalled that thirteen members of Kanam Legislative arm had on Tuesday June 2019 Seat and impeached the House leader and his deputy which led to thugs invading the Council Chambers leading to fracas among members and the mace being hijacked by thugs Suspected to be loyal loyal to the impeached leader
