Plateau PDP crises: Chief DT Sango Resumes Leadership, Sends Chris Hassan-group packing

By Moses Gbande

It is about 86 days since the plateau state chapter of the PDP has witnessed what could be discribed mini coup when (16) sixteenth exco members stormed the party secretariat that faithful morning creating confusion among party faithfuls.

The coup ploters addressed a group of Journalists announcing the sack of an elected Chairman and his Deputy on allegations diversion of 1.6Billion Naira presidential funds.

The announcement ignite heavy traffic of discussion within the political space in plateau state and beyond over the fate and next line of action by the former minister of sports.

Analysts said the petition writing Against the Chairman and Deputy were too flimzy to warrant such action without waiting for the National Headquarters to handle the situation.

Investigation has Shown that the main topic of interest was 2023 general elections, which the plotters are too much interested in who becomes what but feared the continues stay of the former minister of sports on the helm of affairs as the number one party man may likely spell doom hence the need to redisign the movement properly.

Little did the arrowhead of the movement know there may be a resistance to the coup.

Speaking with our correspondent the Special Assistant to Damishi Sango on Media, Emmanuek Macham said the petition in contention lacks basis to warrant removal of a constitutionally elected executive.

“But relying on old days hire and fire the sixteenth offered themselves to be used as ladder with a clearly spell out benefits to each of them”.

Observers believe the party has since then witness sharp division beyond the expectations of the coup ploters.

Macham disclosed however that some of the the sixteenth members who are leading the revolution shows character deficit, corruption allegations hanging on each of them, party funds diversion allegations, lack of adherence to their oath of office and many other allegations lebel against each of them.

“For example, one among the exco leading the revolt borrow 2million naira belonging to the party and refused to refund same to the party coffers, another diverted local government funds giving him to a particular local government during local government elections, funds belonging to media men were said to be diverted severally, that made the entire media in plateau state turn against our party before the general elections except for the goodwill our party enjoys we could have been disregarded since.

“Sangos return after 86 days of staying away from the party secretariat have turn the table completely against the rebel leaders who seems unprepared to defend the allegations the lebel against the former minister of sports but are engage in building up another tactics aim at hanging the man by huck or crooked without adhering to the PDP constitution.

“Since the arrival of Chief DT Sango the party secretariat have witnessed heavy flow of stakeholders, youths groups, media men both local and international, the party has bounced back to life.

“The highly tactical politician made an announcement of special adviser within the week, aim at strengthening the party with mechanism and modes of operation under his leadership.

“It is easier to reconcile than to dream of removing the state chairman without a constitutional backing,Mr Emma Macham one of his media aide was quoted to have said”.

In his analysis of the crises Macham said,it’s all about 2023, but how can the party make progress with corrupt driving persons as leaders.

He specifically pointed to the state PRO and said he lack manners and educational capacity to manage the office in his disposal.

“You can’t be arrogant to people under you and get away with it, others may choose to keep quiet while others will not.

“How can a party in opposition bring in parasites as exco, this are persons without means of livelihood, the must always create chaos to get funds for a leaving.

“It is surely a big lesson to the party if we wish to make headway.

“Chief DT Sango the plateau state PDP Chairman is surely not a vindictive person.

“Let’s put our heads together for a better party”.

Meanwhile, it is very obvious that D.T Sango a a no push over, pointer of the fact that since he returns from the sojourn, his presence is always felt at the party secretariat, while the Chris Hassan led group operates in hidden place.
