
PDP Exco, Stakeholders of Kanke LGA Visit DT Sango, Pass Vote of Confidence In His Leadership Style

The state chapter of the PDP witnessed large turnout of party exco from Kanke LGC and stakeholders who visited the party Secretariat Thursday.
During the Visit, the Chairman of the Party in the State, Hon. Damishi Sango, received in audience led by the LGA Chairman, Nde Waptu, lamented the current crisis in the State Chapter of the Party.
They insisted that while they are for a strong Party, they are against abuse of laid down procedures as enshrined in the Party’s constitution.
The group also assured Hon. Sango and his deputy of their loyalty at all times. They condemned, in strong terms the confusion being caused in the State Chapter of the Party by the splinter group, led by Chris Hassan and co
Nde Jonah who spoke on behalf of Kanke stakeholders said they have raised their strong objection to the impunity by the Chris Hassan group in writing for onward passage to the national secretariat, prayed for the quick resolution of the crisis.
In Addition, former TIC Chairman, Kanke LGC, Nde Joseph Gonsum, lamented the poor outing of the Party in the 2019 elections in the LGA. He attributed the poor performance to the lack of respect for the Party by one of their sons who has benefitted from the people’s good will.
He assured the Chairman and his deputy that they remain unshakable in their resolve to stand behind them.
Lending his voice, former Chairman, Nde John Gotau (Maikudi) laments the attempt by some selfish individuals to uproot a leadership put in place by the people like cassava. He called on the duo to maintain the maturity exhibited, even in the face of several provocative actions of the group led by Chris Hassan.
Responding, Hon. Damishi Sango paid tribute to the team from Kanke. He was full of appreciation to them, and told them to remain proud of their son, Hon. Gombi. He went on to inform them neither himself nor Gombi had misappropriated campaign funds or any other funds, for that matter.
Hon Sango said he will resist the attempt to highjack the Party leadership by those who are pursuing narrow interests.
He said the national leadership of the Party has set up a committee led by Sen David Mark to attend to allegations raised by the warring group.
Hon. Sango said what is playing out is all about 2023. He laments the desperation by those individuals to destroy the Party because of their selfish interests. He said some Chairman had in the past been disgraced out of office by these same elements who are pursuing narrow interests.
Sango noted that the saddest thing is that the morning the group of sixteen executed their coup, it was captured by PRTVC, a media outfit that has never carried any news on the PDP in recent times.
Hon. Sango assured the team that, by the grace of God, he would serve out his term along with their son, Hon. Gombi.
Finally, he called on the team to remain resolute in defense of democracy. He then urged them to continue to pray for all the Party’s candidates before the respective elections tribunal.
