Plateau Assembly Bye-Election: Funds Diversion and Anti Party Allegations May Hit The Party Again After Pengana constituency bye election DefeatBy Moses GbandeThe crises rocking the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP heads to another dimension as few among the exco members are alleged to have diverted funds meant for the bye election to their personal use.Investigation has it that, Some of the exco are alleged to have collected money directly from the APC government to play anti activity during the bye election.The funds contributed by both National and State Assembly Members couldn’t reach the party’s House of Assembly candidate.This scenario placed the party in a handicap situation during the bye election, which contributed to the disappointing outing at the polls.Sources said another set of funds meant for the bye election from the National headquarters couldn’t reach the candidate.On the anti party allegations, reliable sources said the sum of #500,000(five hundred thousand naira) was given to some of the exco members, by the State Accountant General as a contribution from APC government to help rig the election in favour of APC. Many are asking to why the donations.Could there be any pranks played out in Pengana on the field??The North Central Zonal Chairman who had promised to deliver the elections was seen in Pengana accompanied by APC card carrying members and political appointee of the APC led government moving from one place to the other.When Contacted,the special Advicer to the Plateau State PDP chairman Hon. Emma Macham said,the state chairman has been in close contact with the Stakeholders and candidate of the constituency.He said the Stakeholders and candidate will meet to ascertain what happen and way forward.
