President of the Plateau State branch of the Nigerian union of local government employees Comrade Samson Mafuyai has refuted the news making rounds that he has been removed from office.
Comrade Mafuyai made this clarification while briefing the press on a story by some Section of the media which called on him to stop parading himself as the President of the union in Plateau State.
Comrade Said his attention has been drawn to this false Publication ostensibly at the behest of the illegal Larry Gowon led Caretaker Committee, which was published o with the title ‘ Stop Parading Yourself as Plateau State President of NULGE’.
It is clear that the article laced with lies is malicious with the intention to spread falsehood and create an impression that the Plateau State chapter of NULGE is fictionalised, consequently, I am compelled to correct this misnomer.
According to him the Plateau State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE under my leadership is united and intact.
My tenure as the President of the Plateau State chapter of NULGE was extended on the floor of the special delegates conference of NULGE which held in Akure from the 12th to the 13th of October 2016.
The Special National Delegate Conference (SNDC) is the highest decision making organ of NULGE and has the final say on any matter concerning the union. The elongation of the tenure of the current EXCO’s by the SNDC overrides the constitutional quotation been peddled. It is strange that Jonathan Sambo and Nanpon Jacob who are beneficiaries of this tenure extension are the ones leading the pack of those who wish to divide Plateau NULGE for selfish reasons.
That the persons involved in this falsehood could cite the Owerri judgement by Justice I. S. Galadima on the 11th of July, 2019 for constituting an illegal caretaker committee in Plateau State is shameful, and criminal. Members of the public should be careful and avoid dealing with them as they are impersonators. Also, the law enforcement agencies are to take note of their criminal and illegal activities.
On the 8th of August, 2019, Justice O. Y. Anuwe of the National Industrial ruled on an exparte motion brought to him and ordered that the judgment by Justice Galadima mandating the Imo branch of NULGE to conduct election within one month of his ruling is only limited to the Imo State branch.
By this exparte motion and clarification by Justice Anuwe on the earlier Judgment of Justice Galadima and the resoultion of the Special National Delegate Conference which extended the tenure of NULGE EXCO’s, this issue has been laid to rest.
If the promoters of the illegal caretaker of NULGE in Plateau State have the interest of the union at heart, they should abide by the constitution and the various judgments.
He called the Union members who are aggrieved to come together for the interest of Peace and be law abiding Saying desperation will not help the union and as Such people Should ignore the Shameless activities of haters of the Union and Called on the People of Plateau State to remain Calm and go about their normal duties
