By Moses Gbande
The Youth Agricultural Empowerment Programme of Vice President Yemi Osibanjo for the benefitting Plateau youths on Saturday suffered a severed set back, following the inability of the state government and the presidency to show up at the ceremony, leaving the youths in disarray.
The event was supposed to be a gound breaking ceremony of the youth Agricultural Empowerment Programme slated to take place at PADP, Dogon Dutse, in Jos, Plateau state capital.
In a circular issued by the Permanent Secretary, ministry of agriculture, plateau state, Yedoka G. Wakrip,” tagged, “Notice of flag off” and addressed to the programme manager, PADP indicated that the programme was billed to take place in Saturday, 21st September, 2019 at the premises of the PADP at 9am.
Unfortunately, at about 1:pm in the afternoon, it was sketchy if the event was still going to take place, as empty chairs were only visible. While concerned youths wering N.power -T.shirts were seen wearing long faces.
When approached, one of the students mobilizers, who was taking attendance of the youths present, but prefered his name not mentioned in this medium expressed disappointment over the undue delay.
Our correspondent reports that officials and organizer were not handy to explain what could have been the reason for the unavoidable hitches.
