Plateau Legislative Arm Promises Efficient And Coherent legislation To Better Lives Of Citizens

Plateau State House of Assembly says it will not its oars in carrying out efficient legislations that would better the lives of Citizens of the state.
Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Dasun Peter Philip who disclosed this while briefing Members of the Press on the activities of the 9th Assembly in the past one hundred days of legislative business in the state said already, three Ad-hoc Committees were Constituted to work the resolutions reached pertaining to the various issues that were brought before it.
The House Committee Members Comprise of Hon. Mrs. Esther Dusu, Hon. Livinus J. Kwapfuan, Hon. Eric Dakogol, Hin. Abubakar Balo, Hon. Yakubu Sanda and Hon. Zingtim Sohchang.
Speaking through it’s Chairman, Hon. Dasun Peter Philip said during the period under review several bills were presented on the Floor, one passed, two at Committee stage and three are at First Reading.
Five matters of Urgent Public Importance bordering an emergency issues affecting the people of Plateau were raised, among which are:
Insecurity and incessant attacks on citizens in Bokkos, Riyom. B/Ladias well as communal conflict in Kanke, Natural disasters including the collapse of a high rise building in Jos North, and flood disasters in Shendam, Pankshin, Bassa, Kanam and Bokkos. Illegal motor parks within Jos-Bukuru metropolis and environs, especially at Round abouts.
‘There were also the issue gruesome murder of the Hakimin Kadunu in Langai District of Pyam Chiefdom in Manga LGA.
“Twelve Motions on several issues that touched on the livelihood of the people of Plateau State were raised, among which are: Motion on the proper Constitution of the Ninth Assembly,A call on the Plateau State Government to rehabilitate
the power supply to Pankshin dam so as to ensure the provision of portable water for people of the town and it’s environs.
” A call on the Plateau State Government to facilitate the process of the interview results for employment of Medical Doctors to cover the Inadequate staffing of General Hospitals.
” A call on Plateau State Government to expedite Action by putting in place modalities to meet up with the scheduled date for the introduction of Meningococcal A (Men A) Conjungate Vaccine immumization in N1geria.
“You are living witnesses to the fact that various Ad-hoc Committee has been visiting affected sites and Communities to assess and commiserate with these Communities.
“The Screening and confirmation of Commissioner Nominees & icing on cake as it is one of the last activities that we Just-undertook”.
The committee promised to update Journalists on issues of public interest when necessary and solicit for their cooperate to enable them serve the people better.
