Posted By Moses Gbande.Plateau state government has called on citizens of the state to cooperate with revenue authorities for the payment of their taxes and levies to enble government implement some strategic and Critical developmental Policies and Programmes.The State Commissioner Ministry of budget and Economic planning, Mr. Sylvanus Wallanko, who made this call during the presentation of the 2020 Budget break down says government has an elaborate projections aim at coalesing on the infrastructural development of the state in the mist of daunting challenges.He said for such to be actualized citizens need to promptly pay their levies to enable the state cope with the target as contained in the budget. “A lot of funding is needed. As such, Government is highly determined to continue to maintain zero tolerance for corruption and mismanagement of state resources by ensuring financial discipline in all transactions as we key into the State’s Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability Program (SFTAS) of the World Bank and the Federal Government.” Government will maintain its stand on dealing decisively with any individual or group both in Public and Private Sectors that try to frustrate its efforts on Revenue collection as we look inwards in other to be able to finance the budget.He said the State Governorment has earmarked a total of N177, 340 521,774.00 Billion Naira as estimated expenditure for the 2020 financial year.Stressing that the 2020 Budget tagged “Budget of Rescue and Infrastructural Consolidation” has N96,743,795.754.00, representing (55.69%) and N78,596,726,020, representing (44.31%). as recurrent and capital expenditures respectively.Administrative Sector: N12,112‚475‚000.00.Economic Sector: N50,941‚701‚943.00 64.81 0.76Law And Justice:N600,620‚000.00Social Sector N14,941,929,077.00The break down equally shows that the the sum of N7‚712‚076‚677.00 has been commityed to educational sub-sector, representing 9.81% of the Capital Estimate.The commissioner says this amount will used for the completion of the on-going renovation and construction Secondary Schools and provision of infrastructures at the State Tertiary Institutions, including the Renovation/Building of Government Techmcal College Bukuru at N100,000‚000‚00.”Renovatnon/Building of three Science Secondary Schools, Kuru, Mangun and Shendam 300,000„000.00 (in) Renovation/ Butlding of 15 Secondary Schools (Sper-Senatonal zone) . 300,000’000.00.Furnishing & Equipping of the newly Constructed/Renovated Schools at N130 000 000.Thw commissioner noted that the sum of N13,455‚394.800.00 has been allocated to the Works an TransPort sub-sector, representlng 17.12% of the Capital estimate, emphasizing that this will be on the completion of ongoing projects.”Some of the road projects in the budget include amongst others; Duallzation of Old Airport ]unctlon-Rayheld-Bukufu with spur to bogen Karte, Gbandang & New Government House 300,000,000.00 Tahoss-Rim-Bachit, with spur to 101 100,000‚000.00 Langtang-Garkawa-Yelwa-Shendam with spur to Lahn 150,000.000.00 Fobur-Federe-Angware 200,000‚000.00 Bisichi-Karot-DorowaTsohoMangu Halle with spur to Kassa, Heipang and Kwi 200.000.000.00 Bet-Lobiring-Dorowa-Mazat-Kuba with spur 250,000‚000.00to Nding”.Commissioner of Finance, Mrs. Regina Soemlat And her counterpart commissioner of Budget, Mr. Sylvester Wallanko
