The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Rev. Fr. George Gorap, has called on the Federal Ministry of Aviation to upgrade the Yakubu Gowon Airport Jos, to Yakubu Gowon international Airport Jos so that the state could airlift intending Christian Pilgrims straight from the airport to Israel for the yearly Holy Christian Pilgrimage.
Gorap made this call recently in Abuja during an interview with Media Executives.
He added that apart from airlifting Christian Pilgrims from the airport, it would also boost the tourism and agricultural potentials of Plateau State.
He thanked Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts and commitment in actualising the airport project, adding that the state has become the leading light as far as Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria is concerned.
Gorap commended Governor Lalong’s administration for sponsoring more Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land than his predecessors.
The PSCPWB boss explained that the driving force behind the high number of pilgrims being sponsored by the governor was because of his genuine faith in God and his conviction that pilgrimage is a veritable tool for spiritual rebirth and transformation.
Gorap further commended the Plateau Pilgrims for maintaining good conduct in the past pilgrimage exercise while applauding the conduct of the 2019 general pilgrimage exercise organised by the NCPC.
