With over fourth years of existence, the Famous Plateau State Polytechnic, Heipang in Barkin Ladi Local government area, has been existing without Alumini.However, the past Students of the Institution from all walks of life have finally realized the important of Alumini and have put heads together and unanimously agreed to conduct an Election that will bring officials to pilot the Affairs of the Association.
The Electoral Committee has since been constituted to carry the task, and uas recently organized a manifesto for all the Aspirants that are vying for various positions and presented to the esteemed members on what they will do to uplift the standard of the institution if elected.Chairman of the Electoral committee, Evangelist Golengs David Speaking told newsmen after the event that, they deemed it fit to returned to their Al mamata and it is a pay back time for them.According to him, “the school is a well recognized institution. When I went to Bauchi for my National Higher Diploma,one of our lecturers used to say he wished he was the minister of he would convert Plateau state Polytechnic to either a Federal Polytechnic or a Federal University because of graduates from here that goes there and make impacts positively”.The Chairman further stated that, anytime I enter in the school, I will see the infrastructures is not to the satisfaction and international standard and in view of this,I offered myself for this responsibility and I promise that,this election will be free and fair. Even God and people will know that we the Electoral committee did our best because prosperity will not forgive us if we do it wrongly.”Thank you very much gentlemen of the press for the opportunity provided for me to express myself. At the process of the election, we encounter some challenges but we stood our feet and we will remain firm and resolute until we come to a coclusion.” Pressure from Aspirants and even those that are not contesting,everybody want things to be done their on way,I and my team, we have focus and we will not relent until we achieve the feat by God’s grace and we will take this Polytechnic to the greater heigh. I can’t conclude without appreciating the school for their Financial and moral support,though we are still lacking in terms of finance that is why you can see there is no wider publicity”.
