Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has directed both Private, Public and Tertiary institutions in the state to be closed on or before the 24th March 2020 in his efforts to protect the people of the state from the global pandemic, Coronavirus.
The Governor stated this during a State wide Broadcast to the people of the state in Jalingo.
He also ban all forms of gathering of more than Twenty people.
“This is aimed at protecting Tarabans against the deadly global pandemic, which has claimed many lives in some parts of the world”.
” People should avoid handshaking, hugging, kissing and body contacts, for they are the most easiest ways of contacting the dease”- he said.
He urged Tarabans to be wary of the type of market they attend including beer parlours, Restaurants and Video centers which must be closed before 7.00 pm.
“I called on religious organizations not to misconstrue the genuine efforts of my administration to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus to the state.
The governor charge Security operatives to ensure strict compliance of the order.
“I encourage religious leaders, opinion leaders, Non – Governmental Organizations, Associations to sensitize the people on the need to respect the executive order”
Governor Ishaku who returned to Jalingo on Thursday after being away for 87 days, earlier declared that the state government had already made available two isolation centers for those who may be infected with the pandemic
He thanked Tarabans for their love and prayers shown to him on his arrival, adding that their prayers has fastening his recovery.
