Corona Virus: Five Suspected Victims In Nasarawa Tested Negative

The five Corona virus suspected victims recently quarantined at the Federal Medical Center Keffi, have been tested negative.
The State Commissioner of Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, made this disclosure during a Media briefing shortly after a critical stakeholders closed door meeting at the Government House, Lafia on Saturday.
The Commissioner who was assisted in the briefing by his counterpart in the education, Science and Technology Ministry, Mrs Fati Sabo, Chairman of the state Council of Chiefs, Sidi Bage, ALGON Chairman Alhaji Aminu Maifata, representative of JNI in the state as well as the state Chairman of CAN, Bishop Joseph Masin, said the result of the symptoms taken from the suspected persons that were sent for test last Thursday has proved that the symptoms were not of the Corona Virus.

According to him “as it is now, Nasarawa state has no confirmed case of the deadly disease”.
The Commissioner who reiterated Government determination to curtail the spread of the virus to the state, said efforts will continue to be made in the the area of awareness creation, adding that the two existing isolation centers in Keffi and Lafia would be strengthened to make it not look like correctional centers. He said even though the five persons have been tested negative, there is a procedure and such would be followed to discharge them.
Contributing, the state Commissioner of Education, Mrs Fati Sabo, who called on parents not to panic as a result of the disease, said government is working towards the closure of both public and private Schools in the state.
She appealed to parents to restrict the movement of their Children to avoid the unexpected.
Others who contributed, assured that they will use all available instruments under them to propagate the message to the people.
