COVID – 19 HAS AFFECTED US IN THE ORPHANAGE – Benjamin

The Coordinator, UMCN Orphanage has said that the ban impose on Taraba State has greatly affected the Orphanage.

He started this in Jalingo while speaking with our Correspondent.

“President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Darius Ishaku has pose a ban on interactions of not more than 20 persons and no handshake, hugging and kissing and people should stay at home to protect our community from the COVID – 19 pandemic”.

“The ban has so much affected us in the Orphanage, the support we are getting here is all from you individuals and everybody is complying with the guidelines that has been given due to the situation”.

“People are not more coming as usual and without you coming, our up keep won’t be easy and the children will suffer.

“We at the Orphanage has comply and respect the guidelines, restrictions and precautionary measures issued by the Federal Ministry of Health, World Health Organization and Taraba State Government for the safety of ourselves, staff and the children in the home. But the challenges facing us now are restrictions of people from Social, Political, gathering and meetings – he said.

He advised people not to give money or any form of support to any person or group who approach them for any form of support, adding that the Orphanage does not engage anybody or group to go round collecting money or any form of support from the public on its behalf.

He call on the public to report such to the Orphanage or law enforcement agencies for prompt action.

He call on the State Government to reason with the Orphanage by coming to the rescue, adding that the hope of the Orphanage is at stake.

He also call on donors and individuals not to withdraw their support.

“They should come to the aid of the Orphanage. They should do their best to make a good relationship with God and our fellow men, for this is a test from God and alert for end time because the situation does not spear any body irrespective of religion, Tribe or position.

He said that the Orphanage is on its knees praying and crying to God for intervention towards bringing solutions to the pandemic.

He call on religious and traditional leaders to sensitize their people in order to mitigate the COVID – 19 in their Communities.

He appreciated the support by Government, Security agencies, philanthropists, Media outfits, None Governmental Organizations NGO’s amongst others.
