The Nasarawa state government has extended the lockdown in karu local government Area of the state. Governor Abdullahi sule who disclosed this during a press briefing at government house Lafia also said government has approved Wednesdays and Saturdays as the days set aside for the residents of the area to go shoppings between 10-2pm. According to him, government is doing everything possible to ensure that citizens of the state are protected against the spread of corona virus .The Governor who noted the hardship faced by the people during the lockdown said government has distributed bags of Rice in order to cushion the effects. The governor further explained that lockdown from 8pm-6am in major towns of the state would be maintained ,while all social gatherings,mosque and church services would continue to be suspended until further notice. He said all markets,event centre’s and beer parlours would continue to remain closed The Governor further stated that security agents should ensure strict compliance while mobile courts would be established to ensure that defaulters are punished according to the law.
