Covid19: Nasarawa records one death, 6 new cases

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has said that the state has recorded one death and six new cases of corona virus so far.
The Governor who stated this Sunday when addressing journalists also confirmed that the late house of Assembly member Hon. Suleiman Adamu Ara died as a result of corona virus. He said: “the late Hon. Member, Nasarawa state House of Assembly when he was taken to the federal medical center (FMC) keffi came with a symptom of corona virus pandemic, what the sample of his blood was taken for test at the National centre of Disease control (NCDC) Abuja, but before the result came out, he already died and when the result came out it was confirmed positive”, The Governor further explained that he directed all those who attended the burial of the late member including the speaker and members of the state Assembly, staff who had contact with the Hon.member, chief Imam of Nasarawa central mosque and all those who attended the burial including the deceased family members to go into isolation for now, pending the outcome of their tests. He directed the state House of Assembly to be locked down for now until after fumigation. Giving me breakdown of the case,Governor sule said there was one case in keffi, one in Lafia while the remaining six were those returning from the risk states of Lagos and kano. The Governor appealed to the citizens of the state to remain calm, Patient and to maintain social distancing in order to curb the spread of corona virus in the state.
