Covid19:Nasarawa opens quarantine centres in local government Areas, as the number of infected persons hit 11.

Nasarawa state government has opened quarantine centres of corona virus pandemic in all the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

Emmanuel Akabe who disclosed this while addressing journalists in his office on the update on corona virus in the state on Monday also said the covid19 index in the state now hits eleven.

Dr. Akabe further explained that due to an increased in the number of corona virus in the state Government in collaboration with local government chairmen in the state have agreed to use some primary health care centres in all the 13 local government Areas in the state in addition to the NYSC orientation camp in keffi, Dalhatu Araf specialist hospital Lafia, Federal Medical centre (FMC) keffi, and all the general hospitals in the state.

He also said that all the returnees the risk states would be quarantined in their local governments of origins as the state polytechnic Lafia is full to capacity.

The state deputy Governor further stated that security, light and water would be provided to all quarantine centres in the state in order to make them feel comfortable He said have been established in Lafia, Akwanga and keffi senatorial districts with each of them man by a medical doctor.

Just as committee was set up in each local government of the state to oversee the treatment of corona virus in these areas, pointing out that staff of federal medical center keffi are currently undergoing training on covid19 in order to update their knowledge on the pandemic. He said the Dalhatu Araf specialist hospital would continue to be isolation and treatment center of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Almajirais of Nasarawa state origin from other parts of the country were on Monday sent back to the state.

Nasarawa state deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe who stated this to journalists in Lafia also said government would quarantine them for, 14 days before sending them to their parents.

Dr Akabe who said so far the Almajirais were more than 200 also said they are expecting more of them from other states.

He used the opportunity to commend the people of the state for their patient, tolerance and understanding and urged them to continue to support the Government in its efforts towards controlling corona virus pandemic in the state.
