Nasarawa state government has said that it has recorded 13 new cases of corona virus pandemic in the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who disclosed this on Friday during a press conference at government house Lafia also said that the the number of corona virus in the state now hit 24 with one death.
The governor also explained that Nasarawa town alone recorded four cases, hence the need for government to extend the lockdown in the local government for another three days to enable the health workers to do more thorough work in order to ensure that anybody that had contact with the late lawmaker is been fished out so as not to infect other people with the virus. He said all those lawmakers who were tested when the result came out it has shown negative. The Governor also thanked the speaker and members of the house for their support and co-operation during this trying period and urged them to maintain the tempo in the best interest of the state and the country at large. Engineer sule further used the opportunity to call on the people of the state particularly the people of Nasarawa local government to which hunt anybody most especially the immediate family of late Hon. Suleiman Adamu Ibrahim Ara who died as a result of corona virus, but to ensure that they are treated hence the need for them to cooperate with the health officials who are in the area to fish out those infected with the disease to ensure the success of their assignment. He the places that have these new cases include keffi, Doma karu Nasarawa and Awe. The Governor while commending the people of the state for their support and co-operation in fighting corona virus in the state also urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, journalists, security and the entire people of the state for their untiring efforts in fighting covid19 pandemic in the state.
