The internal wranglings within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Langtang North Local Government is gradually assuming a worrisome situation, that if not urgently addressed could led to anarchy.
Already, there is a severed apprehension in the area pointing the desperate nature of the Council Chairman who is alleged to be leading some interest groups to threaten the lives of some members of the party who differed with him on choice of leaders in the last congresses held by the party.
In addition, he is allegedly threatening lives of citizens of the area.
In the meantime, some of the citizens of the area have written to the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State, command to intimate him on threats to their lives by the Executive Chairman, Langtang North Local Government Area.
In the letter titled: THREAT TO OUR LIVES BY THE CHAIRMAN LANGTANG NORTH LGC, JOSHUA LAVEN. The letter reads thus:
“We write in connection with the above subject matter.
‘The undersigned being bonafide citizens of Nigeria from Langtang North local government area of Plateau state wish to intimate you on threats to their lives by the Executive Chairman, Langtang North Local Government Area within the last several weeks.
“On the 13‘” February 2020 at 1:18 pm to be precise, the Chairman who was in Kaduna, called Hon. Ishaya Nankap and threatened him in a recorded conversation that would be tendered if required. He said in the conversation that “nobody would dare him and go scot free”.
“It would have been left at that but for subsequent activities of the character under the present circumstance, warranted this complaint.
“Comrade Manaseh Telzing had received several threats to his life including intelligence sources from the same person Joshua Laven.
“Manaseh’s family members had also been called by Hon. Joshua Laven in regard to a right he exercised under the country’s constitution to report the excesses of the Chairman to the Executive Governor of Plateau state in a recent petition.
“We believe that the chairman is not above the law and should be called to order as he seems to be oblivious of this fact. A man who escaped by the whiskers to be sworn in via a tribunal ruling should appreciate the beauty of democracy and not to turn himself into a tyrant.
‘We abhor his undemocratic approach to issues and implore you to save our souls from this monster that believes money and power is everything. It will interest you to know that all of u contributed immensely in his emergence as elected Chairman.
“As citizens of this country, we appeal to you to take steps to protect us as guaranteed by the constitution to ensure that such excesses are curbed to also serve as deterrence to other would-be tyrants that may emerge in the course of our democratic experiment.
“We shall be grateful to present any other evidence(s) that will help you arrive at a fair and just conclusion on this matter.
