Lack of traditional boundaries of chiefsdoms in Nasarawa state is giving sleepless night to the traditional ruler of Nunku chiefdom, the sarkin Nunku, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad. The paramount ruler who expressed his displeasure in a chat with journalists in his residence in Akwanga at the weekend also said his chiefdom is doing everything possible to ensure peaceful coexistence between various chiefdoms in the state. He said during his one year in office he was able to ensure peaceful coexistence between fulani herdsmen and farmers in his dormain
‘One of the major achievements I made so far is the existing peace between fulani herdsmen and farmers in my dormain, as all of them are living peacefully with one another unlike before where a fulani herdsmen seed a farmer as enemy, we now appointed to them leaders of Miyetti Allah and Ardos”
On what is bringing crises between farmers and herdsmen, he said ” Land is shrinking and the population is fast growing ” adding that Land management cannot be from the government alone,hence the need for strong collaboration between the government and the traditional rulers for peace to reign in our various communities. He said as 12th Sarkin Nunku, he is using his present position to ensure that he revives his chiefdom to retain its lost glory. The paramount ruler who commended for their support to him,”what we are doing in Nunku chiefdom is a clear indication that we are showing to the world a new way of resolving conflict. “/ He called on his people to be law abiding and ensure that they obey the rules and regulations guiding covid19, most especially as regards to maintaining cleanliness and keep social distancing.
