BREAKING: COVID 19 PANDEMIC, TARABA STATE GOVERNMENT RELAXES LOCKDOWN, OPEN CHURCHES AND MOSQUES.

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State on Monday announced the relaxation of the lockdown enforced on the state to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The governor made the pronouncement during a statewide broadcast to the people of the state, held at Goverment House Jalingo.

Ishaku who spoke through the state Deputy Governor, Engr. Haruna Manu said the decision was taken following the resent development of zero active case of corona virus infection in the state, adding that no fatalities were recorded in the process.

According to him, the ease of the restriction on movements and other activities within the state will begin from this week Friday, Saturday and Sunday as against Wednesday and Saturday as ordered earlier.

Governor Darius Ishaku also explained that time allowed is between 8am and 6pm, noting that it was aimed at to enable people go out and attend to their personal needs, while he said, lockdown remains in force on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

He however announced that Christians and Muslims are also free to resume their religious worship in Churches and Mosques and enjoined them to ensure the observance of social distancing, use of face mask and all other safety protocols.
