Nasarawa records 91 covid19 index, with 4 deaths.

Nasarawa state government says it has recorded 91 index cases of of corona virus (covid19) with four deaths and 30 discharged out of the 700 tests conducted by the National centre for Disease control (NCDC) in Abuja.

State commissioner for health, pharmacist Ahmed Baba yahaya who stated this shortly after after a Special joint meeting of covid19 held at government house Lafia Thursday also said 19 people were discharged of the pandemic.

The commissioner further explained that two out of the three blocks renovated at the Magaji Dan Yamusa orientation camp of (NYSC))in keffi are ready for use by the covid19 joint tasks force as isolation centres. He further announced relaxation on motorcycles as they are allowed to carry only one passenger with of them wearing face masks and to maintain social distancing, washing of hands as well as avoiding social gatherings.

The health commissioner also disclosed that total lockdown of interstate borders is still going to be observed until further notice
Also speaking, state commissioner of police, Emmanuel Bola Longe said the security agents would ensure the enforcement of government’s directives as violators would face the full wrath of the law. Longe further explained that since the inception of this lockdown in the state 1924 were arrested out of which 1872 were charged to court 1451 motorcycles were impounded, 86 vehicles owners were arrested while 202 tricycles also faced the same fate. The police commissioner therefore appealed to the general public to be law abiding and observe all rules guiding the prevention of the spread of corona virus in the state. On their parts, religious called on their followers to strictly abide by the rules and regulations guiding covid19 pandemic in the places of worships.
