THE LGA ELECTIONS WERE PEACEFUL – Aisha Alhassan

Tarabans have been speaking on the just concluded local government elections held on 30th June, 2020 in the state.

Our Correspondent who spoke with politicians, all describe the elections as peaceful.

SENT. JUMMAI AISHA ALHASSAN said:

“The Elections was free, fair and credible. There was no fighting any where as it was during General Elections. I cast my vote and the results announced, I am happy, for it was a good outcome, free and fair”

“Our espectations at the end of the day is that all the elected Chairmen and Councilors should work in accordance with the law that will bring life to their constituents. Times are hard, people are suffering as a result of COVID 19 pandemic, they should improve people lives especially at this period”.

She disclosed that the person causing thuggery and problem is Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi the APC Governorship Candidate in the 2015 Elections.

“God has dealt with him for us, he is not here today, that is why everything went on smoothly, God has dealt with him on our behalf”.

“He is the person behind all thuggery activities in the state, now that he is not in the state, the State is peaceful”.

She describe Governor Darius Ishaku as peace loving, urging Tarabans to support him.

She appreciated the electorates for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during and after the Elections.

Senator Aisha Alhassan popularly called Mama Taraba was the Governorship Candidate of the APC in 2015, Sanetor representating Taraba North at Red chamber, Minister for Women Affairs and Child Development and the Governorship Candidate of the United Democratic Party UDP in 2019.

On his part, the newly elected Chairman of Jalingo local government, Abdul Nasser Bobboji appreciated the Candidate of the All Progressive Grant Alliance APGA for accepting the results in good faith and promise to work with him for the development of the local government and state at large.

“I will continue from the foundation that I have already started which includes, Youth empowerment and Security. I will build bridges and promote peaceful co existence amongst the people of the Local Government”

“My winning is a call to duty and sacrifice by the people of the Local Government.

He express satisfaction with the outcome of the results and attributed his success recorded in the office.

“It is leadership by example, continuity which makes me to gain support from the public. I will try as much as possible to make people feel more of my impact”

“I am a Democrat by Training and a Team player” – he added.

According to him, leading people is a difficult challenge he is facing.

“Leading people is one of the difficult challenge, but I am couping up”

He pointed out challenge facing the local government to include lack of Drainages, but that he will join hands with the state government to source for funding for projects.

He also use the forum to highlight his achievements to include the empowerment of 500 Women on various skills and that he intend to continue from where he stopped and call on the public to give him the needed support to move the local government and the state forward.
