SOCIAL MEDIA ABUSES: NGAS NATION MOVES TO SANCTION MEMBERS

The Ngas Development Association, NDA has expressed dismay over the way and manner some of her sons and Daughters have been using the social media to cause disunity among themselves, stressing its renewed resolve to sanction any member who indulges in such acts.

The Ngas Development Association (NDA) which is one of the highest decision making arms of the NDA and the Ngas Nation took this stand, Saturday, 25th July 2020 during an Expanded Executive Council of the Association made up of 46 Registered Branches including Ngas Districts in Ngasland.

In a communiqe issued after the meeting indicates that, the expanded and congress meetings were earlier scheduled for March 2020, however, they did not hold due to sudden emergence of COVID – 19, pandemic which at that time was intensed that necessitated the postponement until now following relaxation of Government policies/protocols on containing the virus.

The Communiqe reads: “Following the movements relaxation, the expanded EXCO held 25/7/2020 under strict compliance with COVID – 19 protocols with 33 Branches in attendance & 3 Branches (sent apologies) out of the 46 registered Branches.

“The attendance covered Chairmen, Secretaries & PROs from the Branches.

”Also in attendance were Leadership of Ngas Youth Movement, NDA Women Wing and National Association of Ngas Students.

“The meeting received briefings from the National EXCO & Branches leadership of NDA led by the National President, Nde Gonen Gofwen on wide range of issues/activities of NDA.

‘The Expanded EXCO meeting equally received reports from various branches in respect to their activities and programmes.

‘At the end of exhaustive deliberations the following resolutions were adopted and issued:

1. The Unity of the Ngas Nation can not be compromised, therefore meeting resolved that erring Ngas Sons and Daughters, be sanctioned for using the social media to cause disunity & frowned at non members writing on NDA without finding out details.

2. That going forward, all those that always show concerned to register and follow on NDA activities/information from their zones or Branches.

3. Ngas project in 2023 is a must achieve by His grace & a responsibility of every Ngas Sons & Daughters. And that all Ngas sons & daughters actions MUST be accounted at all levels.

4. Congress Meeting holds October 3rd, 2020, at NDA Secretariat in Pankshin.

5. That all Branches and Districts should hence forth send their progress reports via email – ngasdevass89@gmail.com , before coming to expanded EXCO meeting.

6. NDA branches to pay the Secretariat Fencing levy to enable completion of the project

7.That the National Secretariat of NDA should also endeavor to send soft copies of Minutes of meetings to all branches ahead of schedule meeting.

8. The meeting appreciated members of palliative Committee for their commitment and dedication for delivering on the mandate given them by NDA. Members in attendance thanked Ngas all over for their respective contributions towards the palliative programme.
