The Nasarawa State House of Assembly ad hoc committee on Covid19 has commenced probing the Covid19 funds already expanded in Nasarawa State.
The Ad hoc committee chairman on Covid19. Hon Dahiru Abdullahi Angibi said during the committee sitting at the Assembly complex on Tuesday further explained that his committee would not witchhunt anybody, but to put the records straight.
Angibi also stated that his committee would ensure no stone unturned during their investigation.
Also speaking,a member of the committee who is also the deputy majority leader of the house,Hon Daniel Oga Ogazi (APC) kokona East expressed his dissatisfaction with the activities of the committee and urged them to do more in order to curtail the spread of Corona virus in the state.Hon. Ogazi further explained that people of the state have stopped observing Covid19 protocol despite the amounts spent to fight the virus in the state and the committee to ensure enforcement in order to reduce the spread in the state. Muhammad Agah Muluku asked the taskforce committee to explained the amounts so far expanded on the fight against Covid19 in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state. Responding deputy chairman of the state taskforce on Covid19 in State who doubles as the state commissioner for health, pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya Said over 700million has been spent on Covid19 in the state since iits inception five months ago,with 14 deaths, while about 300 people were infected with the disease while over 200 people were discharged. The commissioner further stated that the committee is doing its best to ensure that Corona virus is chased out of the state. Meanwhile, the Covid19 ad hoc committee pledged to invite chairmen and member’s of sub-committee on Covid19 in order to ascertain the money so far spent by them.chairman of the committee.Hon.Abdullahi Angibi who stated this during the committees sitting in lafia.
