Nasarawa N.A.Y.E.S. Seeks Legal Backing To prosecute offenders.

Nasarawa state house of Assembly has been called upon to enact laws that could empower the Nasarawa State youth Empowerment scheme (N.A.Y.E.S) to prosecute any offender arrested by them.

General Manager NAYES, Abdullahi Labaran Maina who made their position known in a chat with journalists in his office Thursday also expressed his dissatisfaction with the way and manner the police and security agents are handling the cases whenever they arrested an offender and handed to them for prosecution
Maina who cited an example in obi local government where his stuff gave an information which led to the arrest of an accused and after he was released,he killed the NAYES officer who gave police the information. He said NAYES which has the Staff strength of over 4500 is collaborating with other security organizations in the state to ensure the protection of lives and property in the state, pointing out that NAYES which was established by the state government in 2014 has achieved much for the purpose in which it was established and called for support from individuals and organisation’s to enable them succeed on the tasks ahead.”Security is everybody’s business,let join hands together to enable us achieve our set objectives.”
