The North Central zone of the Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ)has presented an award of excellence,”Champion of continuity in Governance” to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state.
National President, Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Chris Isiguzo Ikechukwu said the National Secretariat of the Union is fully aware of the governor’s performance in the past one and the half year of the governor in the state. Comrade Chris Isiguzo said Governor Abdullahi Sule being journalists friendly governor deserved the award as according to him,”the national Secretariat of NUJ has endorsed this award,” While commending Governor Sule for his policy of continuity, urged him to maintain the tempo in the best interest of the state and the country. Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the north Central zone for the award and pledged to do more in the best interest of the state and the country at large. The Governor who also gave some of his achievements in the past one and a half year as Governor, pledged to provide an enbling environment for practicing journalists in the state. On his part, North Central zonal vice president of NUJ,chief Wilson Bako said the Governor was selected based on his performance in completing the projects embarked upon by his predecessors and urged the governor to continue with the good job in the interest of the state.chief Bako further appealed to the governor to provide the zone with a vehicle to enable members discharge their duties effectively. In their good will message, general manager, previous FM Lafia Alhaji Musa Abdullahi while congratulating the Governor for the award also commended north Central zone of NUJ for choosing the governor for the award. Also Speaking, Managing Director/chief executive,Eggon news newspapers, Chief Matthew kuju commended Governor Sule for embarking on projects that have direct bearings to the lives of the people of the state and urged him to continue in that direction.
