COVIC -19: Nigerian Government, Gov. Lalong Have A Hidden Agenda, Says NUT Chairman

The Plateau State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers ,NUT , Comrade Ayuba Gana has raised a serious apprehension on what the government might be doing secretary in the name of covic-19 Pendamic.

Comrade Ayuba Gana told reporers in Jos that Nigerians are beginning to be suspicious of the antics, saying , “there is more to it that the government didn’t want the general public to know.

He raised observation on why most public places are open for business, while schools remain closed for no reasons.

“If government has nothing to hide about this pendamic, especially the Lalong administration, why should he allowed other business activities in the state to open, and has graciously grant approval for the hosting of trade fairs in the state, yet refused to allow full academic session to resume.

He stressed je need for government to open up and tell the public the truth because the public are fade up with the intrigues associated with the pendamic.

Speaking on just has said suspened planned of nation wide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress ,NLC,, Comrade Ayuba Gana said the suspension was apt in view of the fact the union leaders had reached a concrete agreement with the Nigeria government in tackling problems of electricity hike and subsidy .

He said the reason why NLC,TUC plan to embark on an indefinite strike was to ensure that meters are provide to all households for them to enjoy electricity at lower tariff .

Comrade Gana explained that the subsidy removal has not yielded any positive result ,however, in any agitation there is condition attached to it in resolving but the suspension of the nation wide strike midnight on Sunday shows “we are moving towards resolving it “.

According to him, “we have gotten a percentage of what we are agitating for but if you listen ,we want meters to be provided for Nigerian .

Speaking on the E-learning which the students were subjected to during the covid-19 break , Comrade Gana described the system as ineffective ,saying it is elitist in nature considering the fact that most of the students couldn’t afford the necessary gargets to assessed their lectures,”take a look at the village were I came from you can’t received Radio of Television signals how are you going to participate in a live program then ” he asked.

He equally debunked the insinuation that there an existing recruitment of quacks as teachers into the teaching professional saying that is no more in Plateau state ,ll.

“we follow the proper channel to ensure that those with requisite qualification are employed in the teaching profession” .
