Nasarawa Conducts Induction Course For 140 Newly Employed Admin Officers.

Nasarawa state government in collaboration with the public service institute of Nigeria (PSIN), office of the head of service of the federation is conducting 2-week training workshop for 140 newly employed Administrative officers in the state civil service.

Addressing the participants at the training workshop at the Isa Mustapha Agwai polytechnic, Lafia,Governor Abdullahi Sule said the aim is to acquaint them with the ideas on how best they can do their jobs effectively.

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the chairman state civil service Commission, Alhaji Musa Dangana Giza also urged them to pay more attention to what they may learn during the training workshop to enable them utilize it in the course of their duties as Administrative officers.

Engineer Sule urged them to count themselves lucky as they were the first set of Administrative officers who wrote examination before they were employed. among about five thousand applicants and the first to undergo training workshop after they were employed.

The Governor who expressed his dissatisfaction with the attendance of permanent secretaries and Directors at the training workshop asked the head of the civil service,Mr.Nicholas Aboki to get the names of permanent secretaries and Directors that were not there despite the circulars issued to them to attend the opening ceremony.

Also Speaking, state head of civil service,Mr Nicholas Aboki expressed appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule for given the newly employed Administrative officers an opportunity for the workshop and urged them to utilize it well for optimum performance.

Aboki used the forum to call on them to maintain Covid19 protocols during the training workshop. He said the newly employed Administrative officers were employed towards the tail end of the last Administration of Governor Umaru Tanko Al makura in order to fill the vacuum created as a result of deaths and retirement of state civil servants.

Speaking earlier, Director General, public service institute of Nigeria (PSIN) Mr Abdulganiyu Omotosho who was represented by a director in the institute,Mrs Omobola Thomas identified lack of induction course and capacity building workshop as the bane of problems facing civil service in the country , She urged other States of the federation to emulate Nasarawa state as according to is the first state in the country to allow her newly employed Administrative officers to undergo the training workshop. The training workshop which is expected to last for two weeks would avail the participants the opportunity to know the rudiments of civil service.
