As an addict is always said: GOD’S TIME IS THE BEST, a Legal Practioner and former Attorney General and Commissiner of Justice, Taraba State, has thanked God for elevating him to the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Barrister Yusufu Nya Akirikwen SAN, in a thanksgiving service at Redeemed Peoples Mission, Magami, Jalingo, said his reason for his thanksgiving is to thank God for elevating him.
“I was called to Bar in 1987 and serve in 1989 in Yola former Gongola and now Adamawa State.
“It was not easy for me to go through the process of getting SAN, because one of the requirements one has to pass Twenty judgements within Ten years and if you don’t pass it at the that time, it become belated, But with God on my side, I was able to pass through.
“When I started the process in 2019, the interview was to take place in February 2020, just of a sudden, COVID 19 pandemic came, this delayed the process, but I focus on God and thank God, we were not put to shame.
“Anybody that focuses on God, would not be put to shame.
Barrister Akirikwen SAN, who is the present Commissiner of Water Resources, said oral interwie was conducted and that he has prayed to God before then to put him in the winning group, adding that they were divided into three groups, A B and C and God took him to group C, the winning group.
“It is good to serve, Trust and hold until God, for he is the only one that can give you what you wanted.
On her part, Wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Ndetsiba Nya Akirikwen, said the journey has not easy with them.
“It has not been easy with us, but we were holding unto God. I had a dream sometimes ago and today the dream has become true.
She thank the Resident Pastor, Rev. Musa Ojochoko for standing with them through prayers and encouragement during the hoddles.
“It is not about his hard work but despite that he is hard working, God did everything, so I want to call on people to put their trust in God and everything they desire would come to pass.
Earlier, the Resident Pastor, Reedem Peoples Mission Magami Jalingo,Rev. Musa Ojochoko point out that the help of God is the door to perpetual or endless relevance in life.
He tittle his message:: Celebrating the Help of God”, took his scripture reading from the books of Acts 26:22 amongst other scriptures, urged people to seek the help of God in everything they do.
“The hell of God is the existing door from problems of life, Ps 46:1-3, God is our refuge and strength Is 46:1, Man can help you, but the problem cannot be solve until God help you.
Also speaking, Judge of Court of Appeal, Abuja, Justice Ali Andeyangso said he is excited to see one of his own whom he helped have excelled.
“I kept on encouraging him and gave him the grounds to practice for him to succeed and thank God he succeeded.
“He was appearing before me as a council when I was the High Court Judge and I always challenge to seek for the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, because he was a very good material.
He disclose that Barr. Akirikwen SAN, is the second indigenous person to raise to the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria after Barr. Demion Dodo SAN.
“I am challenging every coming up to move forward to higher level, I am happy for one of my own for making me proud.
“We in Taraba State should be proud because two of ours has made us proud.
“The position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria intells higher responsibilities, it is not bestowed on anybody, there are series of steps that a lawyer must go through such as knowing, testing the lawyer just to mention but few before confernming the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
