TARABA 2021 BUDGET WAS INCREASED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE – Speaker

Following the presentation of the 2021 budget estimates on 4th December 2020 by Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State, the state house of Assembly has given a speedy passage of the budget.

Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Albasu Kunini, during the passage, frowns at the violation of the ban on riding of Motorcycles in jalingo the state capital, stressing that the criminal elements in the state has been using Motorcycles to carry out their criminal activities at odd hours such as kidnappings, armed robbery amongst others.

“The ban on riding motorcycles is still in place and I urge security agencies to deal mercilessly with those violating the ban.

He also raised alarm that the second wave of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic is frightening and worrisome, hence he enjoins Tarabans to observe all the laid down protocols by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Speaking on Thursday, 17th December, 2020 during the passage of the 2021 Budget of Taraba State, the Speaker lamented that despite the upsurge in the second wave of COVID-19, majority of Tarabans have abandoned the safety measures to curb the spread of the dreaded virus.

He said, “Recall that the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in January this year which sent shock waves across the world with heavy tolls on human lives is very much around and has even assumed alarming dimension as predicted by scientists.

“Therefore, I call on Tarabans to observe all the international safety measures as laid down by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the World Organization (WHO).
“I plead on behalf of the Taraba State Government that Tarabans should try by all means to observe the safety measures against the spread of COVID-19.”

“The Budget was increased from N139,460,435,961.80 billion to
N141,625,435,961.80 billion to accommodate all sectors, for the development of the state.

“This was increased by N21 billion – he said.
