Nasarawa state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Comrade Dogo Danladi Shammah has said that the high power tension ( 33KVA) Akurba sub,- station will be completed and commissioned in September this year. Comrade Shammah who disclosed this in a chat with journalists in his office also said Governor Abdullahi Sule would continue to ensure the provision of social amenities to the people of the state. Sule for the past two years as shown by the reception accorded to him during his working tour of the state as part of activities marking his two years in office, pointing out that the tour accorded the Governor the opportunity to appreciate the people for the mandate given to him by the people and to get feed-back from the people of the state on the journey so far.” I was very happy with the tour because people came out en masse to receive the Governor and his entourage which means that the people are happy with the Governor and assured that 2023 will be a Walk-over to the Governor. The warm reception we received from the people and the endorsement is a welcome development, but we will not derail by the endorsement, as it will ginger us to do more,” On the achievements so far recorded by Governor Abdullahi Sule, the Nasarawa state Information Commissioner said, The Governor has achieved much in the area of security especially the farmers/ herders crises along Nasarawa/ Benue borders,” As a serious government,we tackled insecurity where people can now sleeps with their eyes closed, the empowerment of women and youth which also touched their lives positively, He said the government also gave free medical care to the less previledged people in the society. Others include the completion of uncompleted projects especially those projects of the past Administrations of civilian governments of Governor Abdullahi Adamu, Late Aliyu Akwe Doma as well as that of Governor Tanko Al Makura. The projects according to the commissioner include extension of buildings at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist hospital Lafia, general hospitals in Akwanga, Keffi and Nasarawa, which were completed and equipped, Disease control center at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist his Lafia, Aliyu Akwe Doma banquet hall which was completed and equipped, Lafia cargo Airport which is 99.9% completed, and planes have started landing there now. He said the current impasse between the government and the labour would soon be resolved as according to him, “government appreciates workers in the state, but the issue at stake were inherited from the previous regimes in the state,we never stop the payment of 100% salaries since we came on board,as government,we believe that the issue of promotion have been there for years,we are trying to look at it and the labour leaders are not patient with us,,we set up an 11-man committee headed by the state deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, but we will not borrow to pay salaries.
Comrade Dogo Shammah expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved amicably as he wants the labour to bear with the government as according to him, Governor Abdullahi Sule is a labour friendly Governor
He therefore called on the people of the state to join hands with Governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed on the tasks ahead of him.
