Nasarawa LG Election: Vote for Only Competent And Credible Candidates As Chairmen, Councillors. Governor Abdullahi A up. Sule.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has called on the people of the state to vote for only competent and credible candidates during the forthcoming local government election in the state.


The Governor also called on the State Independent Electoral Commission ( NASIEC) to ensure that they conducts Free, fair-and credible election during the exercise in the state. Governor Sule who made the call on the occasion of unveiling NASIEC regulations 2021 at the conference Hall of Ministry for local government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs on Wednesday also commended the State electoral body for unveiling the regulations which according to him is the first in the country. Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule further appealed to the people of the state to give NASIEC all the desired support and cooperation to enable the commission succeed on the enormous tasks ahead. He called on the candidates during the election to ensure not only the peaceful conduct of the election, but to ensure that whoever wins should carry everyone along irrespective of political parties in the best interest of peace and progress. ” I don’t believe on winner takes all politics,as politics should not be seen as do or die affairs, whoever wins should take others along in the best interest of peace, Unity and progress of their areas.” The Governor also urged the state electoral body not to Alien to any political party before or during the election and to abide by the rules and regulations of the commission to enable them succeed on the enormous tasks ahead. Also Speaking, State resident electoral Commissioner, who was represented by the secretary of the commission, Barrister Hauwa Kangiwa assured the state electoral body for the support of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) at all times to enable them succeed on the tasks ahead. She called on the people of the state to take the advantage of the on-going continue voters registration exercise to enable them register to give them the opportunity to vote during the general elections. Speaking earlier, Chairman Nasarawa state Independent Electoral Commission,+ NASIEC) barrister Ayuba Wandai said the commission which was established by section 204 of the 1999 constitution as amended would engage religious and traditional rulers to ensure peaceful,free,fair and credible election during the October 6th local government election in the state.
