Nasarawa LG Election: 80 APC Aspirants Scramble For 13 LG seats.

No fewer than 80 chairmanship aspirants under the platform of All progressive Congress ( APC) are contesting for the 13 local government seats in Nasarawa state. Also, over 387 councilorship aspirants are contesting for 147 councilorship seats in the state.

Chairman APC screening committee for the chairmanship and councilorship primary election in Nasarawa state, Mr Philip Dada who disclosed this while submitting the report of the committee to the state chairman of the party, Mr John W. Mamman at the party Secretariat on Saturday a head of Sunday and Monday councilorship and chairmanship primaries also said among the local governments in the state only Obi local government has a concensus candidate , while others have three or more candidates to slug it out during the party’s primaries.

Dada while commending the aspirants for the maturity exhibited during the exercise, also commended the state leadership of the party under Mr John W Mamman for giving him and members of the committee to serve in the committee and pledged to do more when appointed in future.

Responding, state caretaker committee chairman of APC,Mr John W. Mamman commended the chairman and members of the committee for a job well done promised to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants during the primaries.

The chairman also called on the aspirants to exhibit a sense of maturity during the party’s primaries which is expected to take place today and tomorrow at the various local government Areas of the state.

At the time of filing in this report, many stakeholders in various local government Areas are making sure that they have consensus candidates before the primary elections for fear of possible breakage to other parties as a result of the primaries.
