Money Carted Away By Armed Robbers was N11.7million, not N100million, Information Commissioner.

Nasarawa state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Comrade Dogo Shammah has said that the money carted away by Armed robbers in the ministry of finance, budget and planning was N11.7 millions not N100millions as alleged by some media in the state.

According to a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Comrade Dogo Shammah and made available to journalists in Lafia also said the gunmen trailed officials of the state ministry of finance, budget and planning after making withdrawals at a second generation bank along jos road Lafia and carted away the Cash while shooting sporadically on teaching the ministry. He said the money was meant to host a team from the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission which was due to visit the state as well as furnishing and refurbishing of offices and vehicles.The Commissioner further explained that the purported carting away of #100 million Naira meant for payment of salaries for casual workers reported in some section of the media was not true. Comrade Shammah however pointed out that the incident had been reported to security agencies and investigation had commenced. It would be recalled that last week, suspected Armed robbers attacked the cashier of ministry of finance, budget and planning and carted away some undisclosed sum of money after shooting sporadically at the premises of the ministry.
