Information Bureau Trains 270 Nasarawa workers In Microsoft Certification

The Director- General Bureau for Information and Technology, Shehu Ibrahim has said that the bureau is embarking on a Free Microsoft certification training for 270 Nasarawa state workers that would produce Master trainers to step down the training for workers in the state. Shehu who disclosed this at the flag-off of the programme in Lafia also said Nasarawa state is on the verge of being the third state in the country to work up a ICT master plan for the state in conjunction with the national information Technology Development Agency ( NITDA) which according to him,” needs a robust well- coordinated digital economy to be fully functional”. The Director -General further explained that since the coming on board of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, the provision of digital skills has been the main focus of the state’s ICT programme,where citiezen would be well equipped to handle the everyday technology that shape the 21st century. He commended Governor Abdullahi A. Sule for his support, encouragement and his ever readiness to ensure that ICT becomes a key driver of the state economy.” his overwhelming support has enabled many epic events to happen in the ICT sector, notable amongst them is the creation and use of of the CBT centres and our epic partnership with the joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) pointing out that the state has become an enrollment partner with National Identify Management Commission (NIMC) and their earlier partnership with the technology for social change and development initiative ( tech 4 dev) on basic digital literacy for rural clusters in Northern Nigeria where over 150 persons were trained and the first ever retraining of data processing office where 304 persons were trained. He said the flag- off of the training is in continuation of that goal, and provision of digital skills to workers, which would surely make them better equipped to perform well in their offices and provide them with much needed skills to make them more productive hereafter. Shehu further stated the emerging markets model initiative ( EMMI) is a private- public- non profit partnership necessary to build the capacity of the key government ministries departments, and Agencies+(MDAs) to offer sustainable, scalable reskilling and employment services aliened to the local labour markets. While commending the implementer of the training, the technology for social change and development initiative ( Tech,4 Dev) for their commitments to creating access to decent work, entrepreneurship opportunities and platforms for Africans through digital skills empowerment and advocacy and urged them to always consider Nasarawa state a willing partner in progress,” we are honoured to collaborate with you,”. He therefore congratulated the participants for being nominated by their ministries and Agencies to be part of the programme and urged them to be attentive and ready to learn during the 12 weeks training.
