Fake Appointments: Nasarawa Assembly Suspends Director, Staff Of Bureau For Salaries.

Nasarawa state house of Assembly committee on education, science and Technology has on Monday directed the state Commissioner for finance, budget and economic planning, Haruna Adamu Ogbole to suspend the Director salaries bureau and all the staff of the bureau with immediate effect. Chairman of the committee,hon. Daniel Ogazi who disclosed this during the committee sitting at the state house of Assembly when the management of the Ministry of finance, Ministry of education and the Teacher’s service commission (TSC) appeared before the committee also directed that the the office of salary bureau be sealed pending the outcome of the investigation.” We hereby direct the commissioner of finance to suspend the director salaries bureau and all the staff of the department pending the outcome of our investigation into the fake employment of 38 secondary school teachers in the state, we have invited you to know how the 38 names of purported employed secondary school teachers got to the pay roll of the state government,” he said. Earlier, state Commissioner of finance, Haruna Adamu Ogbole and his education counterpart, Hajiya Fati Jimeta Sabo denied having knowledge of purported fake 38 secondary school teachers as well as directive for the inclusion of their names into the pay roll of the state government. On his part, Sulley Dahiru denied receiving any directive or memo for the include of 38 fake employed secondary school teachers into the pay roll of the state government. A senior Accountant in the bureau, Mr Anthony Ladan admitted the inclusion of 38 fake purported employed secondary school teachers into the pay roll of the state government without the directive from neither the commissioner of finance nor director salaries bureau.
He said he received a letter for the inclusion of the teachers from one John Nuhu whom he knew as a staff of Teaching service commission ( TSC). Ladan added that he didn’t know that John Nuhu left the service when he received a letter containing the 38 purported names of fake secondary school teachers which he claimed that were from the ministry of education through the commissioner of finance without knowing that the documents were fake.
