I enjoyed working with Gov. Sule.—Ex- Nasarawa Commissioner.

The immediate past Commissioner for local government, Chieftaincy Affairs and community development, Yusuf Aliyu Turaki has said that he had enjoyed good working relationship with his former boss, Engineer Abdullahi Sule. Turaki who made the disclosure while speaking to journalists in his house in Lafia also called on the people of the state to continue to support the Administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed on the tasks ahead. The Former local government Commissioner further explained that,” I don’t know Governor Abdullahi Sule before my appointment as a Commissioner, but I enjoyed working with him during my tenure as the commissioner for local government, chieftaincy Affairs and Community development. On the problem he encountered when he was Commissioner, Turaki said. ” I encountered alot of problem which includes accumulated salary arrears and pension for local government staff and pensioners, Staff of the ministry amongst other problems, but now we are able to solve the problem.” He thanked Governor Sule for appointing him to serve as Commissioner, and prayed God to guide and protect the governor on his bid to move the state forward. On his relationship with the ministry staff during his tenure, Turaki who expressed happiness with the staff also said,” When I was in the ministry as a Commissioner,we have 74 Emirs and chiefs,13 local government chairmen,18 overseers of development Areas, and the ministry staff and I all enjoyed working with them”. He said when he was appointed as Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, some people told him that he was not lucky as there is no money like before, but he told them that he was not there to make money, but to assist people and to protect their money not to allow other people play with it. ” We operates local government autonomy in the state and by my training am not to eat people’s money, but to protect the interest of people of the state.”.
